Leading public sociology for a new generation.

CLC Collective is a partnership of three women of color scholars committed to publishing creative, relatable, and engaging sociology for all ages.

Carolyn Choi, LaToya Council, and Chelsea Johnson met as graduate students through their doctoral program in sociology at the University of Southern California. They were drawn to each other by a shared desire to engage in scholarship, activism, and service that transcended the "Ivory Tower." Most academic research is inaccessible without a university affiliation and loaded with jargon, but as researchers whose projects rely on the generous participation of folks marginalized by race, class, gender, and citizenship status, Carolyn, LaToya and Chelsea each felt a moral imperative to create work that is accessible to broader audiences, including children. IntersectionAllies: We Make Room for All is their first collaborative endeavor in this pursuit, and will be released by Dottir Press July 2019.
